BIO
Nathan currently splits their time between Worcester, MA, and State College, PA, where they are a graduate student studying art history at Pennsylvania State University, working with Dr. Christopher Reed and Sarah K. Rich. Nathan’s work explores queer history and theory, decadence, camp, extravagance, and the mediums of found objects, photomontage, collage, and performance. They are a graduate of the School of the Art Institute of Chicago, where they received their Master of Fine Arts in Performance, and the College of the Holy Cross, where they received their Bachelor of Arts in a self-designed Performance Studies major.

Nathan’s artwork has been generously supported by numerous grants and awards, including from the National Endowment for the Arts, the American Rescue Plan Act, the Worcester Arts Council, the Barr Foundation, the Jean McDonough Arts Center, and ArtsWorcester. Their work has been shown internationally, including the 2019 Edinburgh Fringe Festival. Additionally, Nathan is well-regarded as a queer activist in Massachusetts, having been named one of MassLive’s LGBTQIA+ Leaders of Massachusetts. They previously served as Chair of Worcester Youth Pride, Parade Director for Worcester Pride, and spent two summers at the Massachusetts State House working on civil rights and LGBTQIA+ legislation.
